Nikki has been involved in all aspects of initiating and managing IT projects within Birmingham City Council, specifically user-centric projects that enable and support citizen and city engagement with new and emerging digital technologies. Her extensive portfolio of projects include the award winning Computers in the Home Initiative (Aston Pride New Deal for Communities Programme) and Keeping IT in the Family through to the School Admissions SMS Pilot – a national first televised on BBC News and high profile projects with the Department for Environment and Climate Change and Social Landlords. She has a track record of writing bids and securing funding and is currently working on a number of European funded projects including Skills for Carers and Low Carbon/Energy Efficiency projects which demonstrate the role of digital technology can play in Skill development, Energy Reduction & Management and Reducing Fuel Poverty. Prior to joining the City Nikki worked for a number of City sponsored Regeneration initiatives including Newtown South Aston City Challenge and the Castle Vale and she holds a PRINCE 2 Practitioner professional qualification.
