Thursday 26 February saw the launch of the Greater Birmingham Digital Academy at a Digital Summit event held at the ICC in Birmingham. The day started with a VIP breakfast event which shared the findings of the first ever Greater Birmingham Digital Audit (full report can be found here) where there were three clear messages that emerged; businesses in Greater Birmingham want to be able to
access business support more easily, they want to develop their digital skills and they want to be able to access reliable and affordable high speed broadband services which they see as being critical to their business growth.
The summit was attended by 300 SMES and saw presentations from key players and organisations, from the likes of Lloyds Bank to Google as well as national politicians.
Those in attendance also got to explore a marketplace with business support providers from across our region coupled with business support studio sessions.
The event received almost universal acclaim with delegates, exhibitors and speakers all hailing this one of a kind event as the blueprint for other cities to follow.
