There is an open invitation for anyone to visit a free 2-day online security event on Friday 2nd & Saturday 3rd October 2015 between the hours of 10 – 4pm at the Pavilions Shopping Centre, High Street, Birmingham.
Get Safe Online (a Government sponsored public/private cyber security organisation) are working in partnership with Birmingham community Safety Partnership to provide the public with practical advice on how to protect yourself, your computers, mobiles device and your business against fraud, identity theft, viruses and the many other problems encountered online. The event supports the government's national cyber security strategy that promotes 80% of cyber-attacks could be prevented by putting simple security controls in place.
Specific advice will be available regarding online shopping, banking, responsible use of social media, how to keep your digital devices secure and how to keep children safe online. A range of cyber specialist advisors will be on hand to answer your questions and provide you with hand outs and giveaways.
