Summer of Code at BBC Birmingham

If you are interested in coding, BBC Birmingham has a lot going on throughout the Summer.  Join the BBC's Blue Room and have a go at “Character Building.” Ideal for beginners, you can learn how to use basic coding to create your very own pixel character like this one of Midlands Today’s Nick Owen!

They are making a montage of your characters and are looking for their favourites.

For the more experienced, they are also hosting the micro:bit challenge, to create something interesting and useful with a BBC micro:bit and, they will be holding some special mentor sessions with School of Code.

The next coding session is Saturday 20th August, 1-4pm.  Take a look at the video below to see what goes on!

Also, why not join them for Show & Tell on Saturday 3rd September 1.00-4.00pm where they will showcase what coders have been up to.

Everyone’s welcome at BBC Birmingham throughout the holidays. They are open Monday to Saturday, 10.00am-5.00pm and Sunday 11.00am-5.00pm.
