City4Age presents paper on how IoT can help support older people at SoftCOM2017

Nicola Bryant, Business Development Manager for @digibrum together with our project partner Phil Crooks of Etive Technologies attended the SoftCOM 2017 conference in Croatia last month where they presented a paper on smart city services using IoT to support the aging population as part of the City4Age pilot.

The City4Age pilot is currently conducting a 2-phased pilot study in contrasting areas of Birmingham where the use of wearable technologies are being used to collect daily activity and movements of retired people over the age of 60. Localised beacons have been placed within the areas where the pilot areas are based to collect these movements and this information is being fed into a personalised Digital Logbook for the individual to monitor.

The full presentation can be found here.

We are currently recruiting retired over 60's in the Sheldon area of Birmingham - if you'd like to take part, please call the team on 0121 303 8779.
