Birmingham welcomes Indian counterparts

Today, Wednesday 16th October 2019, we welcomed over 40 senior civil servants from the Government of India to Birmingham City Council (BCC) to share knowledge and best practise of innovative projects we've been working on across the city to shape our economic agenda.

The delegation were attending a series of training sessions and field visits here in the UK as part of their visit, and Peter Bishop (Director Digital & Customer Services) was honoured to welcome them to the City of Birmingham and shared an overview of council operations.

Further presentations were given by:

  • Phil Degg (Head of Business Solutions) - ICT & Digital Strategy
  • Andrew Fuller (City Design Manager) - Innovation – 3D modelling and visualisation of regeneration projects  
  • Nicola Bryant (Programme Manager) - Information Management – Insights Programme and approach for Geographic Information System (GIS)
  • Surita Solanki (Project Manager) - Economic Growth Stimulation – Big Data Corridor project
