Wayra's 5G programme, 5PRING, has announced a partnership with seven Local Authorities and two Local Enterprise Partnerships in the UK West Midlands region, home to more than 3M citizens, to launch the 5PRING Smart Cities Accelerator.
This programme will support innovative start-ups and scale-ups to develop 5G use cases on the 5PRING testbed, get access to expert technical and business mentors and coaches, accelerate their route to market through introductions to potential customers and investors and work closely with the partners on solving their business challenges.
They are now seeking ‘Smart Cities’ focussed start-ups and scale-ups with solutions across 4 innovation areas:
1. Health and Social Care
2. Public Services
3. Social and Events
4. Public Safety and Security
5PRING is the UK's first region-wide test bed and is delivered by Wayra UK in partnership with Digital Catapult, Deloitte, O2 and West Midlands 5G.
If you are interested as a business or start-up in applying, or if you know anybody that would suit the challenges outlined in the programme one-pager, please share this with them and let them know they can find further information about the challenges and apply via the 5PRING website. They can also contact Hector Alemany, 5G Accelerator Manager for the programme via email@example.com.
