The Greater Birmingham Digital Academy

Project timeframe: February 2015 - Present

In conjunction with the Greater Birmingham & Solihull LEP, February 2015 saw the launch of the Greater Birmingham Digital Academy at the regions first ever Digital Summit.

The Academy aims to provide digital business support skills to over 400 small and medium businesses across the GBSLEP areas to enhance their economic growth capabilities; help businesses access more customers, save time, market goods and services more effectively, gain more leads and be more efficient with back-office tasks.

The Academy developed a series sessions during 2015 which gave SME's free training in five key areas of digital technology:

  1. Digital Marketing
  2. Cloud Technology
  3. Big Data
  4. Market Impact
  5. Digital Business.

Businesses were able to learn the skills and knowledge they needed to make practical improvements in their business and start gaining the benefits of the 'digital economy'.

The summit was a great success and was a great a opportunity for SMEs across the region who are looking for support on their digital journey to get a better understanding of the opportunities technology offers their business as well as the potential support available.
